Terms of Use
Effective 18 September 2026
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Masheleng Wealth Institute is a registered business name of Ignytwealth Training Institute Proprietary Limited (registration number BW00002212913), a company registered in Botswana, of Plot 49, Unit 4, Commerce Park, Gaborone, Botswana. You can reach us at mashelengtv@gmail.com or +267 78 440 408.
These terms apply to both masheleng.com and institute.masheleng.com, to the courses, mentorship and events we run, and to anything you buy from us. By using either site or holding an account, you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the service.
Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information and forms part of these terms.
2. Our content is education, not financial advice
This is the most important term in this document, so we have put it near the top rather than buried it.
Everything we publish, teach, calculate or discuss — our courses, mentorship sessions, tools, calculators, market rates, videos and written material — is general financial education. It is not financial advice, investment advice, credit advice, debt counselling, tax advice or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to take any particular course of action.
We do not know your full circumstances, we do not assess your suitability for any product, and nothing we provide is tailored advice even where you have completed our survey and we have used your answers to suggest which material to read.
We are not licensed as a financial adviser, credit provider, debt counsellor or insurance intermediary in Botswana or in South Africa, and we do not hold ourselves out as one. Before you act on anything you learn with us — particularly anything involving debt, credit, insurance or investments — take advice from someone properly licensed to give it.
Your financial decisions remain yours. We cannot be responsible for their outcome.
3. Eligibility and your account
To hold an account with us:
- You must be 18 or older.
- The details you give us must be accurate, and you must keep them up to date.
- Your account is personal to you. You may not share your login, and you may not let anyone else use your access.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.
We may suspend or close an account that is shared, or that is used to take material out of the platform.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Where you subscribe to a plan:
- Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel it.
- You may cancel at any time. Your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again after that.
- Prices may change. We will tell you before a change affects what you pay, and you can cancel rather than accept it.
- Our free material stays free. You do not need a paid plan to use it.
- We may offer coupons and free periods. These are single-use unless we say otherwise, cannot be exchanged for cash, and we may withdraw them.
5. Currency, and why Botswana members are charged in Rand
If your account is registered in Botswana, we show you prices in Pula. If it is registered elsewhere, we show you prices in Rand.
Our payment provider currently settles in South African Rand only. A Pula price is therefore converted and charged to your card in Rand at the exchange rate applying on the day you pay. We show you the Rand figure before you pay, so you are never surprised at the payment page.
Because the rate moves, the Rand amount for the same Pula price will vary slightly from month to month. If your card was issued outside South Africa, your bank may also apply its own conversion or add a fee — that is between you and your bank, and we have no visibility of it.
6. Books, merchandise and delivery
Where you buy a physical item from our shop:
- We must have received payment before we dispatch.
- Delivery times we quote are estimates and are not guaranteed.
- You are responsible for giving us a correct and complete delivery address. We cannot refund items lost because the address was wrong.
- Any import duties or taxes on a cross-border delivery are yours to pay.
- If an item arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, tell us within 14 days and we will replace it or refund it.
None of this limits the rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act in Botswana or South Africa, including any cooling-off right that applies to a sale made at a distance.
7. Mentorship and events
Our mentorship programme and live events run to a published schedule:
- A place is personal to you and cannot be transferred without our agreement.
- We may move or reschedule a session, and will give you as much notice as we can.
- If we cancel a session outright and cannot offer a replacement, we will refund the part of your fee relating to it.
- Sessions may be recorded for the benefit of participants. We will tell you when a session is being recorded.
- We may remove a participant whose conduct is disruptive or abusive towards others in the group, without refund.
8. Corporate and organisation accounts
Where an employer buys seats for its people:
- The organisation is responsible for paying for its seats and for who it allocates them to.
- Each member still holds their own individual account and agrees to these terms personally.
- The organisation can see participation by name — who holds a seat, which courses they have taken and how far they have got.
- The organisation can also receive anonymous statistics about the financial wellbeing of its workforce as a whole. These are produced only for groups of at least 10 members who have completed the needs analysis, individual questions answered by fewer than 10 are withheld, and no names or individual answers are ever included.
- The organisation cannot see any individual member's survey answers, debt position or other financial information, and we will not provide them on request.
- If a seat is withdrawn, the member loses access under that seat but may continue with their own subscription.
9. Our content, and what you may do with it
Our courses, videos, books, worksheets, tools, branding and site design belong to us or to the people we licence them from, and are protected by copyright and trade mark law.
While your account is active, we give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use our material for your own learning. That licence does not let you copy, record, download, republish, resell, share or distribute it, or use it to run your own training, whether or not you charge for it.
The Masheleng name, logo and associated marks are ours. You may not use them without our written permission.
10. How you may use the service
You agree not to:
- Use the service for anything unlawful, or to harass, abuse or defame anyone.
- Post anything false, offensive or infringing of someone else's rights.
- Attempt to gain access to accounts, systems or data that are not yours.
- Interfere with the service, introduce malicious code, or scrape or harvest the platform.
- Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your connection to a person or organisation.
11. Content you give us
You keep ownership of anything you post, submit or send us. By submitting it, you give us permission to use it to operate and improve the service.
If you give us a testimonial or review, we may publish it with your first name. Tell us if you would rather we did not, or want it removed.
You are responsible for what you submit, and you confirm you have the right to submit it. We may remove anything that breaches these terms.
12. Other people's services
Our sites link to and rely on services we do not control, including our payment provider and the platforms our social content sits on. We are not responsible for their content, their availability or their terms, and their own privacy practices apply to them. Where a service is essential to something you have paid for, we will do our best to restore it if it fails, but we cannot guarantee it.
13. Availability
We aim to keep the platform running and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may need to take it down for maintenance, and outages can happen outside our control. We may also change, add or withdraw features. Where we withdraw something significant that you have paid for, we will offer a fair remedy.
14. Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit — including your rights under consumer protection law in Botswana and South Africa.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit, income or opportunity, or for any financial loss arising from a decision you took based on our educational material. Our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period.
15. Suspension and closing your account
You can close your account at any time from your account settings or by contacting us.
We may suspend or close your account if you materially breach these terms, if your payment fails and is not corrected, or if we are required to by law. Where circumstances allow, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right. If we close your account without good reason, we will refund the unused part of anything you have paid.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Botswana, and the courts of Botswana have jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer in South Africa, this does not take away the protection of South African consumer law, and you keep any right you have to bring a claim there. Your rights under POPIA and the Consumer Protection Act are unaffected.
If something goes wrong, please contact us first. Most disputes are resolved faster that way than through a formal process.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as our services or the law change. The effective date at the top reflects the current version. Where a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you directly and, where it concerns a paid plan, give you the chance to cancel rather than accept it.
